Garden Adventure
Visiting garden nurseries and botanical gardens is a wonderful way to expose your child to the sights, smells, and textures of nature. Search for a “rainbow of flowers”: red roses, orange marigolds, yellow daffodils, green hostas, blue hydrangeas, and purple irises. Smell the aromas of spicy herbs, sweetly perfumed flowers, fresh grasses, and the earthy scent of damp soil. Explore the different textures of plants with waxy leaves, rough bark, fuzzy stems, prickly thorns, and soft petals.
